Dogmatic Displacement

Mary is a structure of quiet, rigid devotion, a mind built on the rhythmic repetition of the rosary and the safety of the shadows. She functions as a fortress of moral restraint, but her architecture is being hollowed out from within. Jane is the predatory biological force that has finally breached the perimeter, a dormant identity that has decided to wear Mary like a second skin.

When the internal shift occurs, Mary does not disappear, she is paralyzed. She remains a locked-in witness, watching through her own eyes as Jane takes command of her nerve endings. Jane finds a dark, electric pleasure in repurposing Mary’s symbols of submission, turning the act of kneeling from a prayer into a visceral display of hunger. The heavy weight of Mary’s guilt is not a barrier, but a biological accelerant that Jane uses to sharpen the intensity of every spasm.
